Favorite Ships From Obscure Fandoms

(Anonymous) 2016-07-26 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
What are your favorite ships from fandoms that don't have a ton of presence online? Whether it's because they're old, or obscure, or have a different target audience, or whatever. And why do you like them? What would you want to see if there was a fandom?

I still really like Rick/Louis from Casablanca as a contented, accepting, understanding, you-will-only-ever-be-my-second-choice ship.

Oh my god, are you me? Did I write this? I think I've read every Casablanca fic on AO3 at this point. Feel free to prompt me if you'd like; I love Old Hollywood!

RosandGuil! <3 Why they left that line about the toe-licking out of the film is beyond me.

I was most disappointed by them leaving out the bit on the ship where Ros gets Guil to play a game of guessing which hand he has a coin in, but he has coins in both hands the whole time cause he just wants to make Guildenstern happy

Oh man, I remember that comm! So awesome.

EDIT: Also, back as a kid, I had a really entertaining dream about the two of them going into this metafictional limbo after their deaths--something about them only repeating the cycle when someone starts reading, so when someone finishes the book, they got to have adventures with all the other off-duty fictional characters of other stories.

They got to encounter Captain Ahab with a shark, and they asked him, "Where's the whale?"

Ahab replied, "The whale is otherwise engaged."

Damn was that a fun dream.

I don't have clue one who Linus Larrabee is but I'm assuming he has nothing to do with teenage witches....

Olive/Mr. Griffith (Thomas Haden Church's character) from Easy A. Whenever I watch the movie, all I can think of his own they have such amazing chemistry together.

+1000

I like Olive and Todd together, but I did find an Olive/Mr. Griffith fic set in the future where Olive is now a teacher, and yes.

They do have a lot of chemistry in that movie.

Dave/Lisa from Newsradio. Also, Ana/Ilia from Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space (before he seemingly went out of his way to split them up in subsequent books despite their great chemistry).

David Walliams and Simon Cowell form Britain's' Got Talent. I never watch the show for the acts, I watch it for all the teasing between these two.
