I definitely could have handled the name changes if they hadn't steamrolled over everything else.

This! (also as Kallanda says above, if the actors were asian)

I feel like if it had been a good movie, changing the name pronunciations to something more accurately asian would have been fine and maybe even a perk. But it was a bad, white washed, empty shell of a flick, so instead its just another detail from the show the creators changed

And on top of that, didn't Shyamalan claim he changed the names for accuracy, only to change actual Chinese characters to scribbles?
