Yes, to an absolutely embarrassing degree. Our passport stamps said "Welcome to Middle-earth" for awhile, and our postmarks said "From Middle-earth" and the fucking Wellington airport terminal is still emblazoned with "MIDDLE OF MIDDLE-EARTH" and there are life-size eagle sculptures inside.
