I...would not trust that online dictionary? I've always understood -- and seen people reference it seriously -- as being drained by social interaction more than most and *requiring* alone time to recharge.

This definition of yours sounds more like "I care more about being up in my own head than I do with anything or anyone else!"

Yeah, I agree with this. I say I'm introverted, and that's exactly it.

There's also a difference between being an introvert and being an asshole. I've known people I thought were just shy, but attempted interaction showed nope, they were just unpleasant people who didn't want to talk to anyone they didn't "approve" of.
