Huh. I'm the exact opposite. That's one of the few things I'll splurge on, because I can usually tell the difference between high quality headphones and tinny cheap ones right away.

Ditto. If a cheap-ass pair of earphones from the Post Office lasts me more than a year, why should I spend five times as much for something that's probably not much tougher?

I think it's worth spending the money and not getting the thin, tinny sound from cheap headphones.

I always get the cheapest (like $2 Target) earbuds, because my cat is a furry little asshole who likes to kill them.

Yeah, most of the time this is true for me too. I did put out some money for a set that I could use the microphone on... but it didn't work.

Yeah, I'm picky about my headphones, but that's because I use music playlists to time my work. Which means I might be wearing those headphones all DAY, and after that amount of time, they had better feel like clouds, puppies and angel song against my delicate ears!
