I have hero fantasies. Like, suddenly bad guys storm into the office, or like a dragon (not joking), and I suddenly take down everyone and save the day. Or I have secret magical powers that I can't tell everyone about, but my dark backstory is catching up with me and I have to protect the people I love by exposing myself. Or I have magical pets like dragons or Pokemon that no one knows about but I go to great lengths to keep secret.

...I don't read that many young adult novels I swear. I'm just a boring nobody in real life so my imagination tries to compensate!

Yeah, I sometimes dream about gunmen or whatever storming my office/church/wherever, and I take them down single-handedly with all the awesome skills I don't actually possess. Sometimes mental-me gets really hurt in the process, too. But I always win!

I have something similar - both super hero and secret magic powers. A lot of it also involves using said magic powers to fix problem in the world, and/or create sub-dimensions that would host Matrix-like virtual worlds (without the using people to power it factor). I'd set up my Nightlands world in one of them.
