I've been re-watching Community, and I still don't understand why everyone thinks the first season was so terrible.

It's not terrible IMO, but it's not as sharply written as the first season, and the emotional tenor of the show is in a very different place and I prefer the vibe of s2 generally. I feel like S1 is a little more barbed, a little less deep, a little more classic sit-com. That could just be me though.

I saw so many warnings about sticking with the show until you get to the good stuff but I found it funny from the first episode (on the other hand, I'm glad I read all the warnings about Parks & Rec otherwise I would have dropped that show quick).
