This secret really confused me because I thought you were talking about people drawing art of their original characters that are removed from any established form of art, AKA the "new" definition of OC. OP are you referring to the "old" definition of OC, aka a fan character?? That's the only way I can imagine this secret making any sense at all.

Either way I think it's fine to let people do what they want, their self-indulgence doesn't impact you or canon, so it literally doesn't matter.
