Yeah from the movie you'd think Elrond didn't like or know anything about Aragorn or humans, it doesn't give a hint that he raised and loved him as a son. The exaggerated drama between them over Arwen I didn't mind so much, but it was framed like Elrond was unfamiliar with humans and like, learned to respect Aragorn, when he spent the past 900 years taking care of and teaching Aragorn's grandparents and great grandparents.
