If a big part of their character is based in a canon work, they're a Fandom OC. Game protags in particular can be very inseperable from their games - a Warden in Dragon Age can be so heavily defined by their origin that they lose everything that makes them who they are if they don't have that background. Lavellan Inquisitors may be defined as a Dalish Elf who is unhappy leading an army and being lauded as the Herald of a semi-divine figure they don't believe in.


(And again I misspelled "Herald" and "Gerald" which reminds me of the Witcher because one time I made that misspelling and a friend made a quip about Geralt.)
