I feel like these threads always go the same way. Someone who dislikes OCs will make comments about them, share their opinions about how they don't belong and these authors just should go somewhere else. Or "It makes me cringe, they're so full of themselves".

People who like them defend themselves, and their reasons why.

A bunch of the same people who posted get all angry and defensive about how "It's my opinion, I'm allowed to dislike them geeez". And you'll have people acting like their right to dislike them is being attacked.

Maybe the people who like to write them don't care that you don't like them, they just want to be left alone about what they do. Maybe they just want to be able to do their thing without being told to go somewhere else or keep quiet.

No one says you have to like them. But people who write them have as much right to be here and do it as people who don't.
