I have no medical knowledge, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I've been prescribed prednisone or similar drugs several times, and the instructions aren't always the same. If you're worried, call the office back and say "hey, I just wanted to check that the instructions I got were right." But in general, following the directions your doctor gave is the way to go.
