It is very common for steroids to be prescribed in different amounts and ways to take it depending on what is being treated. Just like antibiotics.

I'm guessing your doctor prescribed it how they best thought it would be used to treat this specific condition. If you aren't positive call and double check with the office but I would not just changed how you take the meds cause you think it was done wrong.
