I mostly haven't yet because we haven't actually found a couch to buy and because...without going into detail she's someone I didn't know until moving in and we kinda got off to a rocky start. Idk I'm sure it'll work out somehow. Thanks anon.

The other thing to keep in mind (only just occurred to me because I'm sober now) is that this is not a situation where the responsibility falls entirely on you. In particular, if she really is expecting to split the cost it is completely on her to be upfront about that and involve you in the process. So that's something to bear in mind as well.
