Moulin Rouge + Titanic

Can't remember the exact details, but from a secret posted some years ago:

After the end of Moulin Rouge, Christian's book becomes a world-wide hit. While traveling in the USA to promote it he runs into Rose DeWitt Bukater who, unlike most people, means it when she says "I know what you've been through." They become friends through their shared experiences, each others second loves, and eventually get married and have kids. They have a good life together and when he passes away Rose isn't sad, because she knows he'll be with Satine again just like she'll be with Jack.

It doesn't match up perfectly with the movies, but I always thought it was sweet and it helped with my "what about Rose's husband?!"-reaction at the end of Titanic.

I love this, too.

Ooo.. I really like this. I think that's the reason that even though I like "Titanic", I haven't watched it since I originally saw it in the theater. I was stuck on "her poor husband".

But someone in her same boat (pun only slightly intended) like Christian, I can definitely get behind!

Headcanon accepted!
