Yeah, he is ugly and kinda creepy. And it's not just his age. I've seen some of his earlier work and I found him just as unappealing then.

Excuse you, Capaldi is hot and intense. And intensely hot. And has gorgeous eyes and amazing hair. And the best hands.

But then, I'm so tired of "conventional standards of attractiveness" because, you're right, not everyone is attracted to the same thing, and yet the same thing keeps turning up over and over and over.

Capaldi could fuck my shoes off, and wouldn't it be nice to go barefoot.

I shipped it the second they announced him for the newest Doctor. I don't watch the show anymore tho, so I'm not sure how their relationship played out in canon/have no canon reasons to point to. But based on looks and (actor) age difference alone, I was for it.

I don't ship the pairing. I didn't like Clara. But by no means is Capaldi unattractive. He oozes sexy menace.

For your sake, OP, I hope you can find a kindred soul who does write good fic. I feel that disappointment.

(But I still don't like Clara.)

I liked Clara well enough initially (even if I didn't agree with her lying to Danny), but I was very... well, turned off is an exaggeration, but I wasn't thrilled with her ending/exit.

Then again, I've not been fond with a lot of companion exits.

IA with this, except on the disliking Clara. I didn't love her, and I didn't stick around for her leave, but I thought she was a decent companion at times. Not someone I was ever incredibly attached to, but I don't blame the actress and I think she did work with Capaldi well.

Never shipped them, and I did like her with Danny, but if I were ever going to care about shipping her with someone else, it would probably be a lady. (Didn't she make a comment during one episode that suggested she might be bi?)

Yeah, she had basically a throwaway line about Jane Austen being a phenomenal kisser.

Thank you kindly! I know I'm not owed good fic, and I think Twelve would be a tough character to write convincingly, but a few more fics that catch the spirit of series 9 would help slake my craving.

And … hmm, I'm not sure I agree about the sexy menace in this case. As Malcolm Tucker and Richelieu, oh yeah, Capaldi's all about the predatory, cold-blooded magnetism. But his Doctor has a different quality altogether. I partly love it because their relationship is obsessive and co-dependent, and the recklessness is tinged with desperation. But also with streaks of heartbreaking sweetness, which is rare in Capaldi's previous roles.

I started out a Clara doubter, but I fell in love. Coleman and Capaldi have amazing chemistry, and I'm going to miss their consuming focus on each other.

I like her better with Eleven, but this seems like a pretty normal, reasonable ship. Well, for Doctor Who, anyway.

Delightful though he is, Matt Smith doesn't ring my bells the way Capaldi does. It took me about an episode and a half to adjust, and then it was like, whoosh! Up in flames. And Jenna is captivating to me. Her face is far more subtle in expression than I ever expected, and I love watching the shades of emotion cross her face.

Season 9 was a love story, IMO. It just ended with a sacrifice (and incidentally balanced out the scales of Donna's mindwipe).

This thread has been a pretty accurate reflection of how most people react to the ship, but I'm glad there are at least a few other commenters who've been bitten by the Twelve/Clara bug. I go to YouTube to watch fanvids for them just because their story is so sad and heartfelt, and because they are so gorgeous to look at.

I didn't really care for Clara as a companion, but I'd read smut for this just because she's cute and Capaldi is hot.

I ship this soooo hard! They're both so attractive and they had such chemistry together and it was all so romantic... and I like age gaps, so that helped too.

Huh. I don't see them in a romantic light. Deep friendship? Sure thing! But not romance.

In my opinion, Capaldi is the most and only fuckable doctor since Jon Pertwee!!
