I just hope they reveal that Allura is her species version of a teen too.

(Though honestly, I've had to pretty much block the fandom since the reveal because random pedo accusations are actually pretty triggery for me. In the 'yeah, I spend about six hours shaking and and feeling sick' sort of way. But it feels good when those same people who enjoy hurting people like me for my 'own good' get theirs. )

I'd really prefer she be in her early twenties tbh, or whatever, the Altean equivalent of that is. I'm not a Shallura shipper. She just looks older, and it gets a little tiring when everyone-is-actually-like-eighteen-even-though-logically-they-should-be-older in anime and anime inspired stuff. It's why I was excited when they said that Shiro was actually twenty-five and didn't try to convince us he was only nineteen or something.

I'd rather her be younger because most of her character stuff is pretty teen-based. She misses her father and wishes he was there, Lance wants to flirt with her, she's impulsive, she gets into food fights. She doesn't really act any older than the paladins. And her being a teen would explain why Coran was frozen with her to act as a guardian/parent.

Hmmm I don't really think any of that precludes her from being in her early 20s. Missing her father? Lance, who is maybe 18, flirting with her? I figured her father knew she'd probably be the only survivor and regardless of age, would have wanted her to have some kind of guide. I was thinking 20-22 based on her appearance. To me she just... looks older than the teens, but YMMV. That's still extremely young to be forced into a leadership experience without some sort of older mentor, especially as the last of your kind.

(I don't personally think that's too old to get into food fights. Ahaha.)

Yeah, it's just personality-wise she reminds me a lot of Katara sometimes and Katara was only 14 (especially how she interacts with Pidge). Someone too young thrust into being the leader. Plus we know Coran has to be at least 600 and he's very much an adult, but not an old adult.

Plus there's the whole shapeshifting and being an alien thing. She can get 8 feet tall and purple, so....

And my theory is that Shiro's going to have to step down as a paladin at some point, and she's going to take up the Black Lion (the whole Natural Born Leader thing) which would make all the paladins the same age.
