All the rage about Albus and Scorpius not actually being gay for each other and MUH REPRESENTATION!

Like, did we read the same play? Because they were totally gay for each other in the play I read.

I definitely can see why people would be a little miffed it wasn't actually a verbally spoken 'hey maybe we're not straight' thing, but it was clear enough.

I'm not angry about it but I don't count them as explicitly gay. Subtext just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I grew up the most oblivious person in the world. My rule is that if I wouldn't have seen it while I was in denial then it doesn't count.

I'm not saying it's Crucial. I'm saying there's a difference b/w gay and straight couples when it comes to UST vs. romance, because gay representation is so lacking.

I don't even think they read as queer.

You know what I think would have been dumb?

Two 14-year-old boys both knowing and admitting, without a shadow of a doubt, that they're gay.

But yeah, OK, representation at all costs.
