A straight guy: "I don't have anything against slash, I'm just not interested in it because I'm not attracted to men."
Fandom: "That's okay, everyone has their own personal preferences!"

but,

A straight girl: "I don't have anything against femslash, I'm just not interested in it because I'm not attracted to women."
Fandom: "Uhm that's bullshit sweatie. Shipping has nothing to do with who you're attracted to, and if it does for you then you're shallow and need to change the way you ship. Just admit you have internalized misogyny and fetishize gay men and blah blah lengthy discourse"

(FYI: I'm not a straight girl, and I like both types of slash.)

Seconding hard.

I like my femslash done by people who actually like hot woman on woman action, not people who do it out of some weirdass moral obligation.

I fit totally into the straight girl example you gave - I like slash and het but am incapable of liking femmeslash sex scenes. I can like the non-sexual side of femmeslash pairings but the instant sex comes into it I am turned off so hard I often have to stop reading and go find something het or slash instead.

This is, for me, very linked to my preferences and I credit my love of slash at least partly to liking the idea of dicks going in orifices. Anyone who tries to tell me otherwise... well I'm likely to call them a hetrophobic asshole.

Laugh all you want, but if people want to tell me that not liking lesbian sex is something that should not apply to my reading of fanfic sex scenes, then I will feel they are trying to attack my heterosexual orientation.

But then I don't have a Tumblr account, so I don't run into these sort of discussions.
