Is there a certain character in your fandom that all the fans seems to universally have no chill, seem unreasonable or just annoying as hell?

Pearl, on Steven Universe. It doesn't seem to matter at all whether a person likes her or dislikes her, there is a pretty much complete lack of chill.

Not even touching the Jasper-Lapis situation.

I would say Lapis more than Pearl and Jasper. Jasper fans in particular are surprisingly aware of all that character's faults.

A recent group that has become more and more aggressive. Alec Lightwood (Shadowhunter) fans. No one can help you if you decide to put him in a pairing with a woman (even self insert/reader fics).

According to fandom, you are literally making gay people unsafe if you do this. Like...a fanfic will make some gay kid hate themselves so much they'll commit suicide. This is an actual thing I have seen.

Yeaaah, this is why I picked my dash for this fandom very, very carefully. Everyone I follow is chill and doesn't care about this stupid shit, because it's ridiculous.

I mean I don't even like Alec/girl pairings but I cannot even bring myself to care if others do.

I read a lot of Stucky but if while reading I detect signs that the author might significantly prefer Bucky, I'm instantly on guard. It often turns out not to be a good time.

EVERY character on Sherlock. I love the show but I stay far far away from the entire fandom except for like 3 tumblr blogs which don't ever post anything involving opinions, only cute fanart and gifsets.

Do ships count? Because even after all this time, the Clerith/Cloti ship war is still going strong, to my utter bafflement. They're BOTH awful fandoms. I even say this as someone that does have a preference between the two.

Hook, Regina, and Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time. I mean, I'm a Rumple (and Rumbelle and Belle) fan and if the writers ever dealt with what Regina did to Graham and Henry (her son, not her dad) I'd be a much bigger Regina fan, but according to their stans all the bad shit they've pulled is someone else's fault.

I fucking loathe Hook, but that doesn't mean Rumple's always a perfect innocent victim. He left a little girl in a cage (okay, a precociously magical girl and maybe he had reason to be terrified of magically gifted kids, but) and murdered his first wife.

But I still remember some fellow Rumple/Rumbelle fans' reactions to that stupid facebook game that had letters from the characters to each other. The fact that the first version of Rumple's letter to Belle included a cutoff "I wish you were de--" was apparently the most OOC thing ever, because poor woobie Rumple would never write that, ever. I fucking loved that letter. And I only wish that was the most OOC thing any of OUAT's characters were made to do. I might still be watching the show.
