Book about a reality warping mobster's son?

[personal profile] aenrhien 2016-08-06 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Kid's name was Vinnie, he got powers that let him see and exist in different versions of reality when he was in a car accident with his best friend, whose name I can't remember and that he wasn't very friendly with through the book. His friend had powers too, I think, I just don't remember what they were. I think they lived in Boston, or maybe Jersey. Somewhere a bunch of Italian-Americans would stereotypically be and the mob wouldn't be thought twice of.

If the premise of reality warping mobsters wasn't so weird, I wouldn't still be trying to find this book again 5 years later.
