It is amazing and free.

That being said, the times I've used it, I've only done it in spurts. Learning a language is hard when you rely on self-motivated and don't have structure to push you through when you get lazy. And I don't think anything is a true substitute for finding a language conversation partner and actually speaking. That being said, for the cost of $0, Duolingo is probably the best you'll find.
