Why would it be awkward? One of my wealthier friends still lives with his mom, because... well, they cohabitate well, and the rent on Long Island is ridiculous. They're already in a house far too large for his mom and her bf alone, so why NOT live together?

Lots of people stay with their families. No shame in that.

It's pretty much why my sister and I stayed at home as long as we did. We were both able to save so much money and be at a good place financially when we finally moved out. California/Northeast, it's just too expensive to move out for the sake of it.

Yeah, no kidding. I mean, I'm going to be living with roommates till they put me in the ground; living with family isn't really any different, except you didn't meet them through Craigslist.
