In a lot of cases, yeah. Keep in mind I'm female so I'm talking about women when I say not-straight, I have no idea how rigid things really are for gay guys.

Maybe I should clarify. In a lot of cases straight people appear to think that straying outside rigid roles is kinky. If the guy isn't in charge, it's flipping the script because there's a script to begin with.

I mean I think there are a lot of straight people who act outside those roles. I guess the way you said it implied that all straight people automatically fall into those roles or want to fall into them, to me.

Well of course there are exceptions, but... yeah. Dude straight men have weird hangups. It's not their fault, but they're there. In my experience the hangups are there even when they say they aren't. And it sucks.

I mean you could say I'm wrong and that's just who I've been unlucky enough to be with, except that this appears to be a shared experience with just about every woman who has ever written to an advice columnist.

Maybe it's a term problem? Being on top doesn't mean you're being "a top," you realize that.

Oh, yeah a lot of dudes do have hangups. I guess I just read your comment as meaning "straight people all fall into traditional roles which is very boring, I would hate to be one of them" which is clearly not what you meant, so sorry!
