I get your point, but what might sound lecturing or patronizing to you can be an epiphany for someone else. They're aimed at someone who's never thought wait, why does armor for female characters have either giant tit-plates or barely any coverage at all? I don't think it's necessarily about saying older media is shit, it's just that for a lot of people, this is an entirely new way of thinking for them so creators can't always be subtle about making their point.
