unless they either a) got that money by hurting/exploiting others, b) use it to hurt/exploit others, or c) have a massive nasty entitled attitude about it, there's really no reason to be embarrassed. Merely having money in and of itself is a neutral thing, it confers neither virtue nor vice.

Yeah, same here, though mostly because of their attitude towards it. They pretty much pulled off the classic rags-to-riches fable, and the utter contempt they have towards anyone who hasn't had their series of lucky breaks is migraine-inducing.

No reason you should be. If your parents were poor, would you be embarrassed by how little money they had?
