Game of Thrones, both the source material and the fans. Never found such a defensive lot in any other fandom who go nuts if you suggest the series is anything less than perfection.

I ship a certain pairing in GOT fandom and I've had nothing but positive and reasonable interactions. Also they are far more generous with nice comments on fic than any other fandom I've been in.

NAYRT I thought the same thing. I'm brand new to the fandom so have just been reading fic and browsing tumblr tags but everyone is always so nice and supportive of each other. It's the first fandom in a few years that I may really get into because it seems so welcoming.

I'm loling at your comment. I never claimed the series was perfect, and I didn't 'go nuts'. I was simply stating my personal experience with the fandom.

So you're not seeing the humour in someone claiming the fandom gets defensive whenever one criticises it/GoT and you immediately defending it?

You know what's funny about this? You immediately accuse someone of being defensive for stating a different opinion. That is kinda not conducive of discussion.

(BTW, I have no stake in either GOT or the Jaime/Brienne pairing.)

I had a guy on reddit who would not stop replying to a comment I made regarding whether or not Jon was considered a prince. It was in a General Discussion post in a completely unrelated fandom. My answer was something along the lines of "It's probably likely, but not yet confirmed" and he would not stop telling me that it was fact. This went on for days. I never even once replied to him.
