You can still cause considerable damage to a pedestrian. And cyclists do cause considerable damage to pedestrians worldwide on a daily basis. Okay, so it may not be on the same scale as accidents involving cyclists on the rode but it stilll happens. You're being a selfish asshole.

And cars who ignore me (and could KILL ME) on the road are not? I do everything in my power when I have to bike on a sidewalk to do so in a safe manner. I go slow if there are people (which there rarely are at the times I bike to and from work) and give plenty of warning if I need to pass--and only pass when they turn/move/acknowledge they've heard me.

Sorry, it may be selfish, but I'm still not going to risk my life over maybe bumping into someone.

As a driver in a place where we don't have nearly enough bike lanes, I am glad AYRT is staying on the sidewalk. Driving around bikes is far more irritating than walking around them, and it's far more likely that if I got into an accident with a biker as a driver instead of a pedestrian that someone would die.
