i think it's a little more reasonable to read her as gay when the actress is, in fact, gay as heck

but, you know, i do get where you're coming from and i wish female characters who were outside the standard het feminine mold weren't so rare that we had to fight over stuff like this

nayrt to, but historically these been hundreds of gay actors who played straight roles just fine, and more recently vice versa. I mean, the whole point of acting is...acting.

sure, but we're talking about how to read a specific role that's presented in a specific way played by a specific actress, in a case where we've already acknowledged the character in question doesn't present as classically cis/het/feminine.

i agree with the broader point you're making.
