Storms. Especially now that I live in Oklahoma where thunderstorms can become hail storms, wind storms, and tornadoes pretty easily.

I live in Iowa. I know this fear very well. Anytime there's a forecast of severe storms for our area I'm glued to any weather station/website I can find and watching like a hawk.

People have laughed at my fear of tornadoes. I say, fearing something unpredictable and unstoppable that can kill you and destroy your house is perfectly reasonable.

Automobile accidents.

Yep. I've been told that I'm the most defensive driver they've ever met by multiple people who've been in my car.

A very rational fear.

He's fucking up his own campaign, so this fear is receding for me. Still a very scary thought though.

Dying

Home invasion.

Queer theory and neo-liberalism are destroying feminism and stamping out any hope for true social equality.

I'll give that a pity 1/10 but honestly, more effort and finesse is needed for your work to reach its full potential.

Isolation and loneliness.

And being re-infested with bed bugs. It's basically impossible to prevent. *shudders*

I had bedbugs three years ago. they have not come back.

Earthquakes. I live in an earthquake-prone part of California.

Dying a horrible, agonizing death, OR, being trapped in a situation where you pray for death as a release from horrible agony, but death won't come, e.g., locked-in syndrome.

Miss-stepping when getting onto a downwards escalator. It's only the downwards ones that worry me, not the upwards ones. It's a symptom of my fear of heights.

My computer being wrecked by a power surge during a lightening storm. It may in fact be a bit irrational because I have two surge protectors between it and the wall socket, but still, I don't want to lose my computer.

Losing my disability pension - this has come up today as I got a Centrelink letter about assessing my medical condition and I am worried about getting the appropriate papers together and sent in time, because I have to send them snail-mail because the Centrelink website is impossible for me to access.
Most of my medical reason for being on a pension is mental too, though I openly admit I have terrible fitness and these day a fair bit of aches and pains.

Being forced to make and/or maintain contact with my abuser, especially by way of court order or some legal shit.

Not trying to jinx myself but people goddamn suck. This is probably more on the irrational side, but I think things like, "if they were able to be that fucking insane and hit me while acting creepy the rest of the time when I was small and vulnerable, what's keeping them from upping the ante now that I'm an adult?"

Some days I wish someone would protect me from this piece of shit.
