I like to buy normal stuff -- books, clothes, jewelry. They're not obviously souvenirs, but they are stuff I'll enjoy and use, and I'll still remember that this came from Canada and that came from Vermont, and so on.

Or I buy wines and ciders. :) Might not even save the corks, honestly, but it's still another little (one-time) reminder I get to have later on.
