Lesbian perspective...might be a little different from the gay male perspective. I like seeing characters that are already comfortable with their sexuality and dating people of the same gender. My "lesbian journey" came with a lot of denial, pain, and struggle.

I can definitely see why people like reading the journey, but on the other hand, I highly prefer to not see it and often skip fanfics that have it. It's too close to home.

What you mean to say is your personal perspective is a little different. Because in my own circle of friends / acquaintances, for example, the majority of the lesbians are of the "always knew, always been comfortable with it" type, and the majority of the gay men are of the "a lot of denial, pain and struggle" type. Your own personal experience =/= the experience of all the lesbians ever.

(And no, I am not a gay man.)
