Re: Advice Thread

Many years ago, a few big life-changing things happened, all around the same time. I lost my job (in fact the whole organization went under), my family, my health, and basically just everything I cared about. So my boss offered me the job I have now, and I took it, because what else was left? It's a really good job, good pay, lots of power around the office, a lot of perks. Shitty medical coverage, but...that's life. The catch was that it involves doing a whole lot of shit that some people would probably consider morally iffy, at best, but honestly I didn't really care. So maybe I don't deserve advice at all, but whatever, I can deal with people hating me so I might as well try.

But recently one of my largest investments was sabotaged. I did some research and it turns out the guy behind it was actually a relative I thought was long gone. And not just a distant cousin or something, this was someone really important to me, and now everything I used to care about is flooding back and I'm not really sure what I'm doing with my life anymore, or what I'm supposed to do now. I want to reconnect with him, but he's really against what I do, and I'm actually thinking about quitting my job for him, but that'd piss off my boss, and he's really not a guy you want to piss off. As in, I would probably "disappear" and nobody would go poking around.

So...I have exactly one option. F!S, how do I get my son to turn to the dark side and help me overthrow the emperor and rule the galaxy?

Give in to fear and hate and anger....but remember, if you go down that path, forever it will dominate our destiny!

Try to get in contact with the OP of secret 8, they might have some tips.

If you seriously think quitting would get you hurt.... might want to get the police involved? I honestly don't know how that would work, so you might want to get a lawyer first. I think you need to get out of there. Because what happens if he learns your family member was the one who sabotaged you guys?

And now I realize this was a Star Wars joke and feel stupid.

The galactic police are long gone. That option won't work

Don't. Someone decided to try and be clever in a legitimate thread about advice. Maybe they thought this was reddit and the lack of a [serious] tag meant that juvenile jokes were welcome. You took their misguided jest in good faith and tried to help because you're a good person. That's nothing to be ashamed of.

Sorry, you really only have one morally upstanding choice: you must die a heroic and redeeming death. Them's the breaks.

I love this comment
