I'm always wary of citing one factor as "the reason" for something like this. I don't think it's ever that simple that you can say there's just one reason. It wouldn't surprise me if racism is a factor though.

I thought so too at first, but after reading the secret and looking again maybe he's Asian?

(Anonymous) 2016-08-26 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
He's Jon Foo, who has "a Chinese-Singaporean father and an Irish-English mother" according to Wikipedia.

They're nice enough trousers. Do you also have longer than normal legs and shoes with very high heels?

Sadly no :( I could get the second (though I'd hate walking in them), but I'll never have the first.

It must be the easiest job in the world to choose clothes for Wendie Malick. She always looks fabulous.

So true :).

Maybe we're not fans of it because we DON'T KNOW WHAT THE SHOW IS and you DIDN'T FUCKING NAME IT

The reason Rush Hour failed was because the premise was extremely dated (the original movie came out 18 years ago), the promos were terribly unfunny, and CBS had no faith in it after it debuted to middling ratings (for CBS) and negative reviews.

There is so much scripted TV out there that if you fail in any area (concept, advertising, or reception), the networks have at least five other shows to fill your slot. That's the downside of Peak TV.

It's true, it's true.

I just hope the Lethal Weapon series is good. Jordanna Brewster's in it!

It's got a few things going for it: while the premise has become cliché, I do think this is more fixable than "Chinese cop and black cop solve crime amidst racist banter"; the trailer was much, much, much better; and Fox will not demand ratings to be as high as CBS. Plus it actually stars an actor audiences know (Damon Wayans).

I've got hope for it, nonny!

OH MY GOD I FORGOT ABOUT THE RUSH HOUR SERIES
