That's interesting. I'm usually a multishipper in most of my fandoms, and shipping is almost purely romantic rather than sexual for me. Or, well. A variety of relationships, with some of them 'romantic' is maybe pushing it, but it's usually about the connection rather than the sex for me even with my complicated/hate/rival ships as well. My fandom bicycles are characters I see as having intense connections with several other characters, any of which I could see being built into a relationship of some kind.

I'm the same way. I have characters that I just think could have a romantic connection to multiple people. I don't see why shipping a character with a lot of others should be assumed to be more sexual than other shipping.

Yeah, see, I sometimes OTP-ship and sometimes multiship, and I see no problem with multishipping being romantic, but I'm guessing that OP is struggling with that, hence the secret...

I can sort of see that, I just found it interesting that you said "if you view shipping as more romantic than just sexual" instead of "if you view multishipping as more sexual than romantic". There seemed to be an assumption in your first paragraph that multishipping is more sexual than romantic as a rule, which I'm not sure is necessarily true.

I was assuming that's what the OP was thinking. If THEY view the "true meaning" of shipping as being romance, then "just sex" shipping is "cheapening" it, and if it's "true romance" then it leans more towards OTP-type shipping territory. Also fandom bicycle usually means there's so much fic about them, that probably lots of pwps and such.

Like I said, that's not how I ship either way...

Look at all those quotes.
