H/c where the c doesn't solve anything. At all. Maybe it actively makes the problem worse, because that person doesn't know how to really help.

You know, like most efforts in real life.

I'd tend to look more for that kind of thing in angst or tragedy fics rather than h/c. Particularly the latter. H/c is mostly about the comfort for me, though, so I'd be looking for it to work or at least momentarily help. People trying to help and failing is something I associate more with angst and/or death fics.

Yes, but I am a whimsical god, and I never give my readers exactly what they want. That would be too easy.

It doesn't necessarily have to be angst and woe and terrible, but I can't stand things being wrapped up neatly. Life doesn't wrap up neatly. Happy endings are bullshit.

Yes. Or I quite like H/C where the C kind of helps a little, but the problems are still there because real hurt and trauma takes a long time to heal.

Yep, this is one of my favourite things as well.
Especially if the fic is drawn-out comfort focused on the recovery/healing/etc from canonical trauma.
