Oh my god, I hate this.

I'm not a phone person, so honestly, 99% of the time once I'm home, my cell goes to charge and I forget about it.

The flak I get because I didn't text someone back right away...

I agree that's stressful. On the other hand, people who go the other way and won't use their phone/check their email/etc. sometimes frustrate me. Example: I can't put my sister down as an emergency contact even though she's the only person I know in town who has a car (i.e. could get to me in an emergency), because she only has a cell phone and almost never has it with her.

Ugh, this. One of my friends recently moved out of town and I sent her multiple messages asking if she wanted to get together for dinner or something before she left. She didn't see those messages until a day before she left because she hadn't been checking her phone and it's like... you told me to text you, so could you at least check your phone more than once every few days?

Ironically, it's in a professional context that I run into this more. Why won't you check your voicemail when it's part of your JOB to do so?? :/

Most people I know are pretty good about responding to messages. If I don't hear from someone for a few days I may get worried but I don't expect them to text back Now Right Now unless we're actively coordinating something. But people who don't communicate at all do annoy me in general, I guess I just don't really keep in touch with them so it becomes less of an active problem for me lol

My problem is when I know you sit there with your phone in your hands all day and then don't respond to me for several hours. Sorry, I know you read my text, just answer me!

UGH. When my mom is picking a fight, she'll text me then not answer the phone a minute later! I KNOW you have your phone, lady, pick up!

... I mean conversely it's also annoying to assume someone who is communicating through text is open to phone calls?

I get the not being available all the time thing, but we just texted, why are you not answering?

Why does everything insurance related call me outside business hours?! I'm talking 7, 8, even 8:30pm!

And it's important I want it dealt with so I answer the phone. But I really don't want to and resent it lots.
