tumblr's ridiculous standards for what comprises "pda" and the whiny bastards who demand every post that has even a mention of liking someone or being in a relationship be tagged #pda for the sake of, I guess, paper-skinned aroaces who can't stand to see anything regarding relationships. (and that's not even getting into the homophobic aspect of adding "warning" tags to sfw pictures of gay couples...)

seriously, check the #pda tag on tumblr, I feel sorry for kids growing up to think any kind of affection warrants a warning

Do the people who put warning tags on SFW pictures only put them on gay couples or do they put them on straight couples too? Because if it's both, then that's stupid and prudish but not homophobic.

cool I'm gay and didn't ask what you think is homophobic

By the way, this is another trend I hate. Gay people calling any criticism against someone or some couple that happens to be gay "homophobic" when the criticism has nothing to do with them being gay and the exact same standard is given to straight people and couples. I'm sorry, but just because you're gay doesn't let you redefine what homophobic means.

P.S... I'm gay too!

I'm not "redefining" anything, as it's perfectly possible to exert the same standard over two different groups (in this case, gay and straight) and have that same standard send very different messages. the aroaces say the very same shit you're saying, "but I hate allllll PDA!" but you know what? the real world doesn't work that way, and when you tag gay PDA as if it needs a warning, regardless of whether you ALSO tag straight PDA (whose posts are far less frequent on tumblr so this always ends up being a hypothetical anyway...), it strengthens a homophobic message and makes many gay users uncomfortable.
