Characters or pairings branded as "pure" and "wholesome". Usually they are the kind of characters that are nice and the kind of pairings where they are very affectionate, a fluff-fest basically. I like those characters and I like those pairings, but being branded "pure" usually means they can't do anything bad, or morally dubious, or often even unintentionally harmful. And the pairings certainly have to be the "epitome of healthiness"(tm).

It's so limiting. Like. What if these two people in that "pure" pairing just wouldn't work together? They're nice people. They love each other. But the relationship doesn't work?

I feel some of these characters become so bland, just so people can shout "omg my innocent child" at them.

This is the first time I'm in a fandom where I've been on a ship branded as "pure" and like a few of them "wholesome" characters and it's driving me nuts.
