OP, when my parents were dying, each from long illnesses, fandom was my relief and my escape. I think it's important having that outlet and not silly in the slightest. I'm glad you found it to keep from exploding. Caregiving a loved one through to the end is the absolute worst.

Just remember there's no particular way you're "supposed" to feel about things, and there's no timeline for getting over this crap. I'm wishing you healing and lots of hugs from your favorite space doctor.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents, it must be awful to lose both of them...My mum and I were taking care of my dad (as much as he would let us, since he's never made peace with the fact that he's not a healthy strong person he was prior to the disease)and now we're helping each other get through this, somehow. Still, without fandom, I would have gone mad months ago.
