5 years ago? Chick on LJ/Tumblr had her cats get ill/die from blue buffalo cat food. Many people raised money for her from Taibani and Pokemon fandoms. Later discovered that she took that money and went to a convention where she hooked up with her girlfriend.

I'm either mixing two infamous stories together or it's been buried so deep I can't find it.

If you remember more about this, like tumblr links and whatnot, please share. It's driving me crazy.

*shakes head* I know I shouldn't look down on people who do things out of the goodness of their hearts but I wish people wouldn't be so damn gullible, especially when it comes to heartfelt pleas about pets. Yes, it's heartbreaking when someone's dog dies, but you do not need to soothe that pain with cash donations.

OP here - my boyfriend was cheated on by an ex a couple years ago, where she hooked up with her girlfriend at Yaoicon. Girlfriend who she met allergedly crowd funded money so they could spend the weekend together.

I'm trying to figure out if I actually know this drama, because it sounds similar to what happened with Galiko. Boyfriend is in a lot of man pain over it and I don't want to be like super insensitive and ask for even more details ala oh~ tell me more about your harsh breakup with your cheating ex. He also heard about the cheating through friends who shot him a message on what happened, so it's possible someone had been distorted.
