Yeah, I took "headcanon" to mean one's own AU version of the story, with whatever changes one likes. At least that's how I use the term, but then I'm not on Tumblr so I don't get attacked for any of the details in my story ideas and alternate timelines (the whole trend for declaring anything faintly suspicious "pedophilla" would probably be thrown at my Maglor/Silmaril ship).

AYRT I kind of took it as "I don't have proof, but here's what I like to think."

'Character's favorite food is meatloaf.' The canon never says if he has a favorite food, meatloaf never comes up, but I just picture Character as a meatloaf kind of guy. This may come in in fic I write, it may not. I'm certainly not going to get offended at someone else writing a fic where it mentions his favorite food is sushi. I'm not going to go on long rants about how he'd NEVER eat sushi, he's 100% a meatloaf guy. It's just kind of.. well, unless canon says otherwise I'm going to fill in that detail in my own head.

And don't worry, now if your ship isn't a teenie bit problematic is not pedo, it's incest! Because if people have a healthy relationship they're like siblings and so shipping them is wrong.

Yeah, I count my whole Silmaril story as a headcanon, because it has no proof other than I like the silmarils and I like imagining them as being alive, and there might be space in between Ents and Huorns for a third dryad-like rac. I didn't even make up that race, a friend did, I just applied it to the Two Trees of Valinor (and by extension, the White Trees too).

Maglor/Elenlossë (the Silmaril who fell into sea, or maybe didn't, but if she did someone went and got her out), is probably totally both incest and pedo because Elenlossë fell in love with him before she was fifty (Elven adulthood), and she was raised as his younger sister anyway.
