As someone who bakes a lot and particularly enjoys very sweet desserts, that kind of rankles. And looking at which pies they chose, yeah, I would have expected at least one variation on an apple or cherry pie (I'm not a huge fruit pie fan and might have gone for a Shoofly Pie, Mississippi Mud, French Silk or even a S'more Pie, myself), though Pumpkin and Pecan do immediately come to mind as American pies.
