This is far more cynical than the other anon's hypothesis, but. It's possible (maybe not likely, but possible) that he's agreed to talk but not follow through because he wants to keep you emotionally invested :/

Either way, can't hurt to take the time to reacquaint yourself with yourself, get to know who you are away from the lens of a relationship? Do all the things you wanted to do while dating him but couldn't, etc
Amongst other things, it'll help pass the time until you hear back. Plus the possibility of you having a better idea of what you actually want from a relationship (and if it's something you can get with him at all).

(I can't remember your older posts, but this post makes it sound like you're wanting/hoping to get back together with him.)
