Well, my Friday started off pretty poorly. I was having terrible cramps so my sister offered my some Midol. I've never had Midol before and I didn't know much about it. I decided to take it right before bed. After laying in bed for two hours and having to get up every 20 minutes to pee, I hopped on my phone to figure out what was going on.

Apparently two Midol have the equivalent amount of caffeine as 1 1/2 cups of coffee. For people who drink a lot of caffeine, that'd probably not bother them. For someone like me, who has not drank a caffeinated beverage in about 5 years...I was up until 3am. I hopped out of bed at 6am still a bit wired.

I crashed around two today. :/

Ouch. That'll do a number on your sleeping patterns. Strong pain relief tends to knock me out regardless of caffeine content, but then I have been drinking tea and/or coffee since my teens.

You really do have to read the labels of period pain relievers because so many of them have caffeine in them! I think maybe one or two don't, but I mean you really have to read the fine print. It sucks.

It was over the counter and basically a more cramps focused ibuprofen so I figured it would be cool. Boy was that a mistake!

THIS.

Also the same medicine is usually offered to men as well under a different name and a cheaper price. Sometimes they even have 50% more of the same stuff for a lower price if it's marketed towards men.

Bsically, learn what ingredient works as a pain-relief and look for stuff that offers it WITHOUT any side-effects, like caffeine.
