TW: suicide, death and rape

Either my mother knocking at my door two hours earlier than my usual wake-up alarm to tell me that my best friend's brother had committed suicide during the night and woozily wondering if she meant my brother-in-law because they had the same name. My mother calling on the phone two hours earlier than my usual wake-up alarm to tell me that my grandfather had died during the night. Or waking up in the middle of the night in a pitch-black unfamiliar room from a nightmare where I had seen my kid sister getting raped and being unable to save her.

You have had many terrible waking ups. It is rarely good to be woken up really early in the middle of the night. And that nightmare sounds awful.

I guess the bad news were just part of life? The worst bit about them was that it was wat too early and my brain didn't really process the info at the time. It sucked, but I still prefer that over earthquakes or awful pain.
Looking back, the worst one was definitely the nightmare/sleep paralysis combo.

TW: cannibalism

Forgot one! When I was in college I used an alarm-clock/radio to wake me up. One day, my radio started with the news of how an inmate in a neighbouring city's prison had killed his cellmate, butchered him and cooked and ate his lung believing it was his heart. What the actual loving fuck, people at the news station?? Did you really need to tell us the gory details at 6:00 AM sharp?? (The very next day I switched my alarm to the buzzer function and never used the radio again.)
