I did the same. Now I play on normal (since about 5 years - five years into console gaming) and then ff13-3 came along aND it kicked my ass.
but I was so pleased when I had a hard core gamer friend tell me that he played the european release of Catherine because the Japanese version was "unplayably hard on normal"... I just had played through the J version on normal! Yay! Finally!
It gets better. You get better.
