Before I'd watched I'd had people sell me on the ship for being like a fucked-up teacher-student kind of thing, and it's not like that's incorrect, but I just didn't find them shippy at all. I spent a lot of the series having no idea why they kept going back to each other, which I suppose is a trope in itself, but I suppose I need even the tiniest spark of positive reinforcement even in my fucked-up ships, or at least a reason to believe they'd keep going back to one another, and those two really didn't have that.

Jesse and Gus, on the other hand...
