Not every fandom / fan is in lockstep? It's surely OK to criticize the majority of positive (or even just interesting) roles being white men (by an overwhelming majority, shut up Todd), and still want more POC and mixed race representation. They're two different things, in a way. I don't hate white dudes, I just like seeing more variety. In general, I'm glad when there are more mixed race couples on TV, but it doesn't have to be white guy / black woman. Just, in general, I think more representation of difference races/looks/relationships helps people to adjust to things, whether they're older viewers who can see things modeled on TV that never were accepted "back in their day" or younger viewers who can then grow up seeing different people and relationships, and maybe counteracting that racist heritage they're growing up around. (You know it's still out there, it hasn't disappeared....)

Yeah, but ONTD is definitely in lockstep.
