(Anonymous) 2016-09-08 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)this is like one of those "fuck men for being rapists" discussions and then someone always has to come out of the woodwork and say "not all men!"
and it's like... no shit sherlock. that's not the point.
and this is not a simple matter of hypocrisy either.
...whenever [a white male] gets paired with a black woman on a show [ONTD] act[s] like it's the second coming
it's pretty obvious you're not a person of color, so I don't have much energy for this. if you're puzzled by something, the least you could do is research into it before mocking people for feeling some type of way about things that affect them irl. a simple googling of something like "problems with interracial couples" would have given you tons of context to work with.
no one gets shit on on the same massive scale as PoC women. especially in the black community, guys will fuck black women (and asian women are seen as sex toys, by men of all races), but they don't wanna date or marry them because white women are seen as a status symbol. you think it's a coincidence black celebrity men like dating white women? or that media frequently portrays black male/white female couples instead of vice versa (which does happen, rarely, and is by no means the norm)?
so is it really that strange that when fictional white male/PoC female couples are represented in media, some people might exhibit happiness?
but you know what? do your own research.
and lmao if you think ONTD is too over the top for you, you better stay away from lipstick alley and black twitter
